In the heart of the village of Bordeira, in the municipality of Aljezur, EscolaNova was born from the desire to transform an abandoned building into a vibrant space for gathering, artistic creation, and experimentation. A project by Lavrar o Mar Cooperativa Cultural, EscolaNova is a place of belonging and hospitality designed to regenerate memory and reactivate Bordeira's identity through art and participation.

More than an arts centre, EscolaNova is a laboratory where local culture and contemporary creation intersect. Here, artists and residents collaborate in creative labs, performances, workshops, and activities that foster knowledge exchange and celebrate the cultural richness of the territory.
