An entire afternoon of experimentation, movement, and discovery. Contemporary circus artist Pedro Matias, known for blending acrobatics, object manipulation, and performance, invites the public into an open lab where contemporary circus merges with the active participation of all present.
EscolaNova becomes a dynamic stage where micro-performances emerge—from improvised solos to spontaneous collective creations, depending on the group’s energy and involvement.
More than just a show to be watched, this lab offers an immersive experience where the contemporary circus becomes a language of encounter and expression.

Story-birds and instant books
with Ricardo Falcão and Beatriz Machado

In this poetic and hands-on workshop, led by artist Ricardo Falcão, each participant will be invited to create small birds from various materials—delicate creatures that carry stories in their wings and beaks. We shape memories, dreams, or wishes between drawing, sculpture, and imagination, transforming them into symbolic birds full of meaning.
A creative journey for all ages, where the flight is both internal and collective. The experience also includes creating instant books, guided by Beatriz Machado, to record the stories born during the workshop.

Graphic documentation of SUN DAY
with Beatriz Machado

Throughout SUN DAY, artist Beatriz Machado creates a real-time graphic record, exploring the space and the people within it through ethnographic drawing and anthropological illustration. In this practice, participants become artistic material—observed with care and sensitivity, captured in lines that reflect appearances, gestures, relationships, and the day’s energy.
An artistic and anthropological gaze on SUN DAY, where the every day becomes an image.
